The mc•tsg Disaster Recovery Project is a collaborative effort by ITCs to provide for disaster recovery and business continuity services in the event of a major problem at an ITC.
According to the Ohio Administrative Code 3301-3
“A written business continuity plan shall be formulated, reviewed at regular intervals by the governing body of the data acquisition site, and on file at the department.”
“Business continuity plan” means a plan defining the specific steps that will be taken to provide emergency services in the event that an information technology center is unable to provide the normal services required by its users.
The DR Project is oriented toward being able to provide services to ITCs so that they can have an effective, affordable, testable, and executable plan to provide these emergency services.
A key component of the DR project is a "hot" site by which an ITC could bring up its services to its districts in a way that meets the ITC locally defined Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and Recovery Point Objective (RPO) for each of their services and applications.
The DR project produces a quarterly newsletter full of project updates and useful disaster recovery and business continuity planning tips. An archive of these newsletters is available here.
